Kennesaw Charter Science and Math Academy has the following statement regarding the death of our much loved PE Coach, Jeffrey “Jay” Ingram:

Not only was Jay Ingram one of the original staff members of KCSMA, but his passion and heartfelt care for our students, staff and families made him a favorite of all who passed through our halls. His life’s work was foundational to the vision of the school and his presence will be sorely missed. Even though he won’t be physically present, his spirit and dreams for the school will live on as we move forward, remembering him forever in our hearts. At this time, our hearts and thoughts are with his wife and children.

Our first official day of school at the new location will be Monday, April 9, 2012!

An informal open house and briefing on how to prepare for school at our new location will take place at the following dates and times:
K-2 parents – February 16th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm
3-6 parents – March 8th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Update from Jon Taylor, Project Manager with Hodges and Hicks

Rounding 3rd and headed for home!!!!!! Things are going well here, just trying to finish. The interior is basically done with the exception of the gym floors and some miscellaneous items from each trade. Once these items are complete we will begin with finals. As for the exterior the landscapers are installing trees and should begin with hydro-seeding by the end of this month. The bus canopies are set to arrive next week so we hope to be going for our outdoor finals in mid February.

The deadling to apply for the lottery is Friday, February 10th.

The lottery for the 2012-13 school year will be held on Tuesday, Februrary 14th at 6pm in the dining room of our current location.

Donate a library book in honor of your child!

To share in the holiday season, KCSMA will be selling Candy Cane Grams during lunch. They can be sent to students, teachers, staff, siblings, or family members. Candy Cane Grams are a special note with a candy cane attached. Candy Cane Grams are $1 each or 6 for $5.

If you would like to buy them for your student, you can send in a filled out Candy Cane Gram form along with the exact amount of cash to purchase them. Please put this in an envelope with Tara McLeod written on the outside.

They will also be sold at the Band and Chorus concert on December 20th.

There are two different Candy Cane Grams to choose from! They will be delivered to the students homeroom on Wednesday, December 21st!
