Dear Parents and Families,
The last few weeks of school go by so quickly I’m hoping this newsletter will help with your end of year planning. Please check the KennesawCharter.com often, and be sure to click on PTO as well.
Congratulations to Colleen Allen, KCSMA 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year! She will receive $500.00 from our wonderful Partner in Education, Uniform Source. This year we also began the tradition of voting for a Classified Employee of the Year. Congratulations to Amanda Green, who will receive $250.00 from our Partner in Education, Kid to Kid.
PTO hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast this past week. There were goodies bags, coffee and lots of great breakfast foods. I would like to join PTO in thanking all of you who spend your time helping the students and staff throughout the year.
We are working diligently to get student class lists completed by end of May. This year will be a bit different, as you can expect to receive an email from your child’s teacher during the month of June. This will be a welcome note with some class and grade level information for you, along with some upcoming dates. Supply lists will be provided as well. Please let us know if your email address has changed to ensure you receive these summer communications.

He leaves a legacy of passion for education, integrity, humor, and compassion for kids that will forever keep him dear in our hearts. We wish him and his family only the very best. He is loved and will be missed. Please see Mr. Traster’s letter to you below.
Have a wonderful summer – Mrs. Frey
Dear Parents and Students,
I have been very blessed to have been a part of Kennesaw Charter for the last 7 years. This school has provided me an opportunity to work with some of the best teachers and staff members I will ever know. These teachers dedicate themselves to the school and students so much more than anyone realizes. I am proud of what we have done and what will be done moving forward to make this a special place. I also cannot thank the parents enough for everything they do for the school and staff. Without your support and trust, we would not be able to achieve the level of success that we have and will continue with moving forward. In addition, I am so proud of the students and what they accomplish while they are here and after they leave. Some of my proudest moments are seeing students I have taught, or worked with as an administrator, return and talk about how successful they are in many arenas in life. As I have said before, my goal has been (and always will be) to enable the students to be successful now and have the tools to be leaders long after they leave.
With that said, it is with mixed emotions that I write this. I will always look back on my time at Kennesaw Charter with admiration and appreciation, but I wanted to let all parents and students know that this will be my final year at KCSMA. My family and I have decided it is time for me to seek other opportunities and gain experiences beyond these walls. I am very excited about what the future holds for Kennesaw Charter. Mrs. Frey and Ms. Hicks have some amazing things planned for the years to come. This is now, and always will be, a special place for me.
Thank you for everything,
