KCSMA is not negatively impacted by this morning’s ruling of the Georgia Supreme Court that only local boards of education can approve and fund a charter school. KCSMA was approved by both the Cobb County Board of Education and the Georgia State Board of Education (not the Charter School Commission).
This ruling will potentially have an impact on the charter school movement in the state, however it will not prevent KCSMA from moving forward with all of our exciting plans for the future.
We will continue to work with both the Cobb County Board of Education and School District Officials as we have in the past. We are thankful for our positive relationship with the Cobb County School District and appreciate the support they have shown for KCSMA.
